A lead-generating website for a residential and commercial contractor
Northpoint Builders
About the project
Northpoint Builders handles custom homes, renovations, and commercial fit-outs across Southcentral Alaska. Word of mouth kept them busy, but their website did nothing to win the larger projects they wanted next. We rebuilt it on WordPress as a credibility-first lead engine, with filterable project galleries, clear service paths, and an estimate request that pre-qualifies each inquiry before it reaches the office.
Technologies we used
What was holding them back
For a contractor competing on bigger and more complex jobs, the old site quietly undercut the company's reputation.
- A portfolio that did not show the work. Finished projects sat in a flat photo dump with no context, so visitors could not tell a kitchen remodel from a commercial build-out.
- Every inquiry started from zero. A bare contact form produced vague messages with no budget, timeline, or scope, so the team spent hours qualifying leads by phone.
- No separation of services. Residential and commercial work was mixed together, leaving each audience unsure the company did their kind of project.
- Invisible in local search. Thin content and missing local signals kept the company off the first page for searches like general contractor and home renovation in the area.
- Impossible to keep current. Posting a new project required developer help, so the gallery stayed months out of date while jobs were finishing every week.
What success looked like
The aim was to turn the website into a tool that earns trust on first visit and delivers fewer, better, more qualified leads.
Objectives list
- Present completed projects in a filterable, story-driven gallery.
- Split residential and commercial into clear, distinct service paths.
- Replace the basic form with a guided estimate request.
- Capture scope, budget range, and timeline before a lead arrives.
- Rank for high-intent local construction searches.
- Give the team self-service control over projects and content.
- Reinforce credibility with licensing, safety, and process detail.
- Load fast and look sharp on every device on a job site.
“We were winning work despite our website, not because of it. The new site finally looks like the company we actually are, and the estimate form means the leads we get are real projects with real budgets. We are spending our time on jobs instead of chasing dead ends.”
Guided estimate request
Instead of a single message box, the estimate request walks a prospect through project type, scope, budget range, and timeline using custom WordPress fields. Each submission arrives already structured and pre-qualified, so the office knows whether a lead fits before the first call. The conversation now starts at the details instead of the basics.
A portfolio built to convince
- Homeowners. filterable renovation and custom-home galleries with before-and-after context and the story behind each build.
- Commercial clients. a dedicated track showing tenant improvements and ground-up work, with scope, scale, and delivery timelines.
- The internal team. a custom dashboard for publishing new projects, photos, and case details without touching code.

Discuss a projectReal, measurable outcomes
The rebuilt site changed both the volume and the quality of incoming work. Qualified inquiries roughly doubled, the team spent far less time vetting bad-fit leads, and the company started ranking for the commercial searches it had been missing.
